Movie Reccomendations

Movie 1: Little Women directed by Greta Gerwig

I saw this movie with my mom and brother in theaters the first week of 2020 and fell in love. This is the story of Little Women directed by a women and it is done incredibly. While going through the life of Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy Greta Gerwig is able to show the hardships and the beauty of the story that many people have read before. This movies aesthetic and the switches between the past and future scenes made me fall in love. Along with the brilliant acting of Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Louis Garrel, Timothee Chalamet and Lara Dern. This story is beautiful and shows the beauty of family.

Movie 2: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban directed by Alfonso Cuaron

Of course I needed to add a Harry Potter movie. Just like on the book list all the books and movies are incredible but this one is my personal favorite. I love the aesthetic vibes I get from this movie and the amazing way the story is told and how accurate to the book the story is. Along with that the acting of Emma Watson, Dainel Radcliff,  Rupert Grint, Gary Oldmen, and David Thewlis is absolutely incredible. The story of family and the message that sometime you can make your own family and sometime you could help uncover the real truth is incredible. This movie should totally be added onto anyone's watch list.

Movie 3: Call Me By Your Name directed by Luca Guadagnino

Another one that is off the book list two. I recently watched this movie and fell in love with the characters and the story even more. Timothee Chalamet and Armie Hammer are so incredible at showing the love Elio and Oliver feel for each other throughout the story. They are also able to put on an amazing performance that makes people cry at the end due to how amazing the story is told and how in love the characters are.

Movie 4: Beauty and the Beast directed by Bill Condon

Though many people do not like the live action Disney movies this is one of my favorite movies. I grew up on the original Beauty and the Beast and with Belle as my favorite princess I knew I had to go see this movie. As someone who was late into the Harry Potter fandom I never really knew who Emma Watson was but after he incredible performance of Belle and the way she was able to put the character on the big screen I fell in love with her and her acting. The castle and the dress were so well down throughout the movie it made me want to live in a castle and dance in a ball gown. Though is sometimes drifts away from the original story they were able to make it there own incredible story.

Movie 5: Life is Beautiful directed by Robertor Benigni

I watched this movie in class after reading Night by Elie Weasel. Night was a story about a holocaust survivor and the story was very sad and heartbreaking. My teacher told us we would be watching this movie. Though the movie is in Italian I quickly fell in love with the story and the ability that such a sad event in history was able to make a class of teenagers laugh and cry during it. Though it is in Italian and you have to read captions it is still and incredible story and is very aesthetically pleasing to they eye. Though if you are watching this bring your tissues it is very sad.

Movie 6: Knives Out directed by Rian Johnson

I never was the biggest fan of murder mystery stories but my friend wanted me to see this movie with her (because of Chris Evans) but I instantly fell in love with the story I saw on that screen. The character dynamic of who did it and what will happen next that was shown throughout the entire movie was incredible along with the acting of everyone to show how big and important this story was to each member of the family was incredible. I loved the characters and the overall plot of the story and how I was able to laugh and be surprised throughout the movie.

Movie 7: Captain America the Winter Soilder directed by the Russo Brothers

I am a huge MCU fan and I fell in love with the movies and the characters that were put onto my screen. Captain America is one of my favorite characters and this movie has been one of my favorites for a while. The acting between Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan is incredible in this movie. The smooth fight scenes with little CGI and how clean and well done the movie is done makes this movie incredible to watch. Though many people may not like action movies this is so well done you may get caught up with the characters and the plots to realize that you are watching a marvel movie.

Movie 8: The Amazing Spiderman directed by Marc Webb

Spiderman has been done three times and each one differently and done incredibly but I fell in love with Andrew Garfield and how he was able to portray an amazing Spiderman. Along with being a good Spiderman the dynamic between Aunt May, Peter Parker, and Uncle Ben was incredibly done throughout this entire movie. Though this is an older movie and the fight scenes may be a little choppy the story and way it is portrayed is done amazingly. This in no mean says I do not like Tobey Maguire or Tom Holland and how they portray the character because that is far from the truth I just love this movie and how well done the story is done.

Those are some of my favorite movies of all time. Along with these I love all the classic Disney movies like The Lion King, Cinderella, Dumbo, and many more but I tried to branch out and add some movies that aren't just Disney and Pixar movies. If you watch these movies I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
